Creating An Unforgettable Logo

Is your brand memorable? Does the combination of your logo and your symbol say everything about your brand that needs to be said. It seems like an impossible task, but with a good amount of thought and effort it can be done. You can create a logo that represents everything your brand is.  Here are a few tips to help your customers, and potential customers, understand you through your symbol and logo.

1. Don’t underestimate the power of simplicity – Don’t spend too much time trying to create a logo that explaining what you do. Have you ever seen a car within the logo of a car company? Have you ever seen the image of a shoe on the side of a shoe? People will figure out what you do, your job is to explain who you are.

2. Don’t underestimate the power of diversity – You’ll learn to appreciate a logo that looks good anywhere and on anything. Consider that you may need your logo to be present on a space as small as a business card (or smaller) and as big as a billboard (or bigger). Don’t settle for a logo that only works well in certain situations. Test it on different materials and on all different sizes before you even consider settling for a design.

3. Don’t underestimate the power of typography – Your font says everything about your brand. Serif fonts show more elegance while sans serif fonts are able to communicate something more fun, simple and stable. The “logo” part of your brand actually is the font while the image associated with it is your symbol. Make sure your logo says enough about you even without the symbol to accompany it.
